Shielmartin

Some of the remains of a charming 1953 Irish vulture were discovered by Lucien De Vetter. At that time the project “Shielmartin - The Rise of the Sinking Dreams” was born.

The ship was completely restored between 2011 and 2014 by apprentice craftsmen in the port of Ghent, based on the original drawings. From then on, the "Shielmartin" a sailing ship of the Irish Yawl type set course for new horizons under the protection of Evi Van Acker and Frans Maas with the aim of shining again in the water.
