The 'Twister' is a famous boat type designed by Holman in the 1950s. The 'Tyfoon' was built in England in 1968 (plywood hull and deck) and finished in 1969 by Staf Versluys in Ostend. Versluys built her out for solo races and won many times. She was thoroughly restored in 2002, taking into account the traditional lines of the ship.
After having sailed successfully for several years with Staf Versluys and having been owned by Robrecht Kerkhof for almost 27 years, the boat has been thoroughly restored by the current owners (taking into account the traditional lines of the ship) since 1999 and sails 'Tyfoon' all year round on and around the North Sea in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and England, regularly participating in maritime gatherings of classic ships.
