Shanty Koor Blankenberge (B)

Shanty singers in heart and soul. The Blankenberge shanty choir was founded at the beginning of 2000 and started off with a first performance during Sail Blankenberge. It was the first Belgian choir of its kind. It currently consists of 40 members, dressed in the typical sailor's costume of the fishermen on the Flemish coast. The only female member is the conductor. In addition to the traditional songs, the Shanty Choir Blankenberge performs the typical Flemish shanty songs from the illustrious Icelandic period.
