Augusta Maria

The 'Augusta Maria' was built in 1910 at Zwolsman in Makkum. She was first named 'Augusta Maria', later 'Vier Gebroeders' and 'Saudade'. Until around 1980, she transported griend wood from the Biesbosch throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

In 1910, she was fitted with a Bolnes glow head. Later, this was replaced by a Bolinder and, in 2007, by a John Deere.

Previous owners sailed extensively in France and Belgium from 2000 to 2012. Since 2005, the current owners have annually brought Sinterklaas into Veghel by boat.
