The 'Vrouwe Augustina,' built in 1912 at the De Boer shipyard, originally served as a cargo vessel for transporting peat and livestock across the Frisian lakes and the Zuiderzee. At that time, it lacked a cabin.
In 1972, thanks to a series of renovations, the vessel was transformed into a yacht. Its age and authentic character earned it a place as sailing heritage in the Dutch registry of round and flat-bottomed yachts in 2000.
In 2012, the 'Vrouwe Augustina' received its current sail plan and a new name: the 'Augustina.' Marijn Daniels and Natalie Huyghe purchased this tjalk in 2019 and registered it under the Belgian flag.
