Assistent

The tugboat 'Assistent' was commissioned by P. Smit Jr. and built at H.H. Bodewes in Millingen aan de Rijn. In 1954, she was launched under the name 'Krammer'.

After serving for several years in sea-going vessel assistance, she soon proved to be too small, partly due to the scale expansion in shipping. Following her career as a harbor tug, she continued to operate for quite some time towing barges in Zeeland.

In 1965, the 'Krammer' was sold and operated for the Rotterdam Port Authority under the name RHD 4. For use as a patrol vessel, she was equipped with a larger wheelhouse and a fire-extinguishing system.

In 1983, the tugboat was purchased by her current owner and renamed 'Assistent'.
