Minerva

The 'Minerva', a sailing three-masted schooner with an auxiliary engine, was built in 1935 at the Lühring Werf in Germany as 'Uwe Ursula'. It was one of the last sailing cargo ships, transporting goods from Hamburg. In 1951, it received a new main engine, which still functions today.

In the 1960s, it lost its masts to compete with motorized cargo ships and frequently sailed the Elbe, the Nord-Ostsee Canal, and the South Danish waters. By the mid-1980s, it was decommissioned until an enthusiast restored it as a sailing party ship, blending modern comfort with tradition.

In 1987, it was renamed 'Minerva', and in 2010 it was updated to meet modern safety standards. With a renewed interior and overhauled engine, it is ready for many more years of sailing enjoyment.
