Nele

The "Nele" is a replica of an Ostend two-masted sloop used for fishing in the North Sea until the early 20th century. This sloop was built as part of an employment and training program at the Maritime Site Ostend, one of the oldest shipyards in the Vissershaven.

Although she looks like an authentic ship, a lot of care and attention has gone into the most advanced technical and safety conditions. The "Nele" was launched in 2003 and carried out her maiden voyage during Ostend at Anchor in 2005. She is suitable for receiving 30 guests and making long sea trips with 8 people.

The "Nele" celebrates 20 springs this year and will participate in Oostende voor Anker, Tall ships races in Dunkirk and Sail Amsterdam for the occasion. Thanks to the inspirer André Nolf and a handful of volunteers, the "Nele" is the ambassador par excellence of Oostende at international maritime festivals.
